Sir Thomas Playford (pictured) holds the record for the longest term of elected government in Australia having served continuously as Premier of South Australia from 5 November 1938 to 10 March 1965.

The Golden Wattle is the national floral emblem of Australia and is a tree which flowers in late winter and spring, producing a mass of fragrant, fluffy, golden flowers.
